IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donnie Ben
Carter
August 3, 1971 – December 16, 2025
Mr. Donnie Ben Carter was a man of quiet strength, unyielding faith, and generous spirit whose life was defined by service to God, devotion to family, and commitment to community. Born on August 3, 1971, to the late Jessie Carter and Audra Carter, Donnie was raised with values that shaped him into a man of character, humility, and quiet leadership. From an early age, he understood the importance of hard work, integrity, and compassion, principles that guided every chapter of his life.
Faith was the cornerstone of Donnie's life. A righteous man who was deeply committed to God's work, he served faithfully as a Deacon at New Prospect Church, later continuing his calling at Miracle Temple First Born Church. His service was not performative but purposeful, marked by sincerity, reliability, and a genuine desire to serve others. Donnie believed in faith, lived daily, demonstrated through action, kindness, and consistency. Whether offering a prayer, a word of wisdom, or quiet support, he embodied servant leadership and stood as a spiritual pillar within his church community.
One of Donnie's favorite quotes, simple yet powerful, was "Do the right thing". He shared it often, not as a slogan, but as a way of life. To Donnie, those four words were a reminder that integrity matters, especially when no one is watching, and that character is revealed through everyday choices. He believed doing the right thing required courage, compassion, and accountability, and he lived in a way that encouraged others to do the same.
Donnie pursued higher education at Albany State University, majoring in Criminal Justice, before discerning a calling that led him to Moultrie Technical College, where he majored in Machine Tooling and graduated in 2001. This decision marked the beginning of a distinguished 27-year career as a Machinist at Kelly Manufacturing Company. His dedication, craftsmanship, and work ethic earned him multiple recognitions from the company's President, honors he received with characteristic humility and pride in a job well done.
In 2021, Donnie embraced a new professional chapter by joining the Tifton Housing Authority, where he quickly became a valued team member and trusted colleague. He found joy in his colleagues and took genuine pleasure in offering words of encouragement, motivation, and hope, reminding others of their worth and potential.
Beyond his professional and faith-based commitments, Donnie took great pleasure in life's quieter moments. He found peace in fishing, where patience and reflection met, and enjoyed playing chess, a pastime that mirrored his thoughtful and strategic approach to life. Above all, he cherished time with family, which remained his greatest source of joy and fulfillment. His presence was steady and reassuring, marked by a calm strength that made others feel respected, heard, and valued. Deeply committed to the development of young people, he devoted many years to coaching recreational softball and serving on the recreation board, guided by a firm belief in teamwork, discipline, and the lasting impact of positive mentorship.
Donnie leaves to cherish his loving memory his middle school sweetheart and beloved wife, Kim Carter; his four daughters, Kendra Carter, Tierra Carter, Kristen Carter, and Taliyah Carter; and his six treasured grandchildren, Kaylee, Kyndal, Carter, Kyla, Kyro, and Kyzi; three God- children Kalyn Clayton, Vincent Gray Jr., and Kaleb Durr: and Mother n-Law Essie Banks..
He is also survived by his twelve siblings: Lavern Jones, Mary Jones, Claudia Woods, Deidra Patterson (Larry), Rosalind Deberry, Jerome Carter (Bernice), Alton Thomas, Teddy Anderson, Richard Anderson (Christina), Ronnie Carter (Twin Brother), Jessie Carter (Melony), and Charleston Carter; four sister in laws: Angela Godfrey, Sonia Mccormick, Keinatra McCormick , Laree Samuel all of Adel, GA, and Deondra McCormick of Atlanta, GA; five brother in laws:
Robert Keith Mccormick Jr.( Tabatha), Demetrius Collier , Brandon McCormick, Dan Wiseman, Darren McCormick, and Malcolm Martin all of Nashville, GA. Also, a host of nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts, extended family members, and dear friends.
Although Donnie's earthly journey has concluded, his legacy lives on, reflected in the faith he practiced, the family he cherished, the youth he guided, and the many lives he touched through his kindness, encouragement, and steady example. His life serves as a reminder that true greatness is not found in grand proclamations, but in faithful service, quiet leadership, and generously shared love.
