Fredrick Lamar Tippins, 64, was born on November 3, 1961 to the late Eli Tippins and Yvonne Newsome Tippins in Adel, GA. He was preceded in death by his baby son Frederick Tippins Jr.
He went on to be with the LORD on November 23, 2025.
Fredrick was always affectionately called by his middle name, Lamar. He grew up in the small town of Adel, GA (Puddleville), with eight brothers and one sister. After graduating from Cook County High School in 1980 he joined the U.S. Army. He pursued his higher education from Central Texas College and Troy State. While serving, he met and married his first wife, Jessie James in 1981. From that union, were four children, Fredrick Jr., Lorenzo(Coriel) of Halethorpe, MD, Daleana of Fayetteville, NC and Jeremiah(Charlinae) of Charlotte, NC.
Lamar retired from the U.S. Army in 2000. Soon after, he was employed by AW Motors in Clayton, NC, from which he also retired in early 2025. He later joined in matrimony to Janice McClain in 2007. He found his church home in New Trinity Missionary Baptist Church in Clayton, NC, he was an active member.
Lamar was an avid lover of nature and was never known to meet a stranger. He was always laughing and smiling.He loved family gatherings. He loved playing Bass Guitar in the church choir.
Lamar will be missed by all who were blessed to know him. He leaves the following to cherish his memory: his Mother - (Yvonne Tippins), Children - (Lorenzo Tippins ( Coriel) Daleana Tippins, Jeremiah Tippins (Charlinae), Siblings - Larry Inman, David Tippins (Ouida), Michael Tippins, Bobby Tippins (Carol), Timothy Tippins (Mimi), Rodney Tippins, Charlotte Washington (Joshua), Corey Tippins (Latassel). Grand Children -(Lorenzo Jr., Alana, Alexander, Maleana, Lilyana) a special friend Robin, a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Uncles and Aunties.
