James Wesley Newsome, age 60, in divine wisdom God called him home to eternal rest on September 1, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter. Born on March 18th, 1965, in Adel, GA., he was the cherished son of the late West Newsome and Joanne Hicks. James attended Cook County Schools and was a diligent individual who prioritized his family's well-being. He had a lengthy career with Production Anodizing and Charrapal Boat, with his final position being at Micro Chem. In his leisure time, James enjoyed watching western movies and spending time with his family who he cherished dearly.

James West Newsome was preceded in death by and welcomed into eternal peace by his dad, West Newsome; his mother, Joanne Hicks Newsome; grandmother, Annie Lee Newsome.

James cherished and leaves behind his sweet, loving, and caring aunt Elveria Newsome; and the late Thomas Newsome, Jr., who loved and helped raise him.

James West Newsome is survived by his two children: his daughter, Shannell Diggs (Thomasville, GA), and one son, Isaiah Scott (Moultrie, GA); three sisters, Katrina Newsome, Marilyn Arnold (Michael), and Patricia Inman (Alfonzo), all of Adel, GA; one brother, Spenser Newsome (Gabriel); two aunts, Anita Curry (Jacksonville, FL) Elveria Newsome (Adel, GA); one uncle, Joe Lee Perry (Atlanta, GA); and four grandchildren, Janiya and Jamyia Miller, Demaurier and Jordan Diggs all of Thomasville, GA; special friends, Willie Inman, Tinisha, Rasheika, and Shandreika Miller, Debbie Covington, and Lonnie Birdine. Also, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
