Johnnie Mae Brand of Nashville GA passed away into the sunset on August 29, 2025 surrounded by her family.

Johnnie Mae was born in Atkinson County Georgia on August the 17, 1953 to the late Walt and Georgie Mae Newsome she received her education in Atkinson County and Berrien County schools

Johnnie Mae spent over 25 years as a seamstress at Nashville Textile and a well-known and loved proprietor of Mae's Café. Above all she was a devoted mother, grandmother, and wife. Her character exemplified integrity, kindness, generosity, and loyalty towards her family.

She is preceded in sunset by her parents Walt and Georgie Mae Newsome, first husband Mr. Johnny Lee Bazin Sr., and 6 brothers Peter Hall, Curtis, Walt Jr., Jerry, James, and Larry Newsome.

Johnnie Mae is survived by her devoted husband, Chester Brand, her loving daughter, Andrea (Michael) Green of Nashville, GA., two-stepdaughters Chesta Brand of Sumter, SC, and Michelle Goodwin of Augusta. GA; her three sons Larry (Annie) Bazin of Alapaha GA., Johnny (Tosha) Bazin, and Aaron Bazin, both of Nashville, GA and step-son Byron John Brand OF Augusta, GA; her four sisters Diane Newsome, Deborah (Larry) Smith, both of Nashville, GA, Mary Ann (Johnny) Mapp, of Valdosta, GA, and Barbara Jean Walker of Sparks GA; four brothers, Richard (Juanita) Newsome of Hinesville GA, Claude (Chiffon) Newsome of Tifton, GA, Sammy (Glenda) Newsome, of Nashville GA, and Isaac Newsomee of Valdosta, GA; 15 grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws; two devoted friends, Mrs. Carolyn White and Mrs. Rita Mathis.
