Sophia was a proud graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School in Brooklyn, New York. In 1996, she relocated to Valdosta, Georgia, where she dedicated 28 years of faithful service to South Georgia Medical Center. Sophia was known for her strong work ethic, professionalism, and unwavering commitment.

She had a love for reading, cooking, and shopping for the latest and greatest. Above all, Sophia loved her daughters unconditionally and absolutely adored her grandchildren. She touched the lives of everyone she encountered with her kindness, warmth, and generosity. While she was loving and compassionate, those who knew her best will remember her as a strong woman with a true boss mentality.

Sophia departed this life on January 5, 2026. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Willie C. Bridges Jr., Pinkie Bridges, and Beatrice Bridges Wright; her siblings Pinkie Mae Bridges, Ora Bridges, Willie Bridges Jr., and Larry Bridges; and her beloved daughter, Shirin Anna Cotto.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories her two daughters, Siroyce Cotto and Shadae (Jonathan) Keeley; five grandchildren, Lyric, Cincere, Nahki, Josiah, and Skylar; sisters Sybrenia Lane, Sarita (Tony) Foster, and Wanda Everson; brothers Gary (Denae) Bridges and Marlon (Melody) Wright; nieces Shannel, Sharemia, Shaylonda, Leandra , Sybrenia, Shalea, and Tara; nephews Michael, Maurice (Alexis) Steward, Gary, Jared, and Anthony . Aunts Alice Miller , Mary Louis Berrien , Margaret Gloster , Pearlie Spencer and Uncle's Fredrick Bridges ( Mary) and Walter R.Bridges ( Minnie ) A close cousin, Beverly "Biddy" Brown; special girlfriends Jamane Rowe, Barbara Graham, and Chelle Keeley; and her late best friend, Sandra Smith, along with a host of extended family members, cousins, relatives, and caring friends.
